Extended moon systems

Explore Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Mars moons in real-time orbital motion

We've expanded the Solar System explorer with detailed moon systems for the gas giants and terrestrial planets.

New Moons Added

Jupiter's Galilean Moons — The four largest Jovian satellites now orbit in real time:

  • Io — The volcanically active moon, rendered with sulfurous surface textures
  • Europa — The icy ocean world, featuring a cracked surface and subsurface water
  • Ganymede — The largest moon in the Solar System, now with detailed topography
  • Callisto — The ancient, heavily cratered moon completing Jupiter's system

Saturn's Ice Giants

  • Titan — Saturn's massive moon with its thick nitrogen atmosphere and hydrocarbon lakes
  • Enceladus — The geologically active water-world with distinctive icy geysers

Uranus's Moons

  • Miranda — The strangely fractured moon with extreme surface variation
  • Ariel — The bright, icy satellite with prominent canyons and ridges

Neptune's Triton — The retrograde ice giant moon, orbiting backward around Neptune

Mars's Companions

  • Phobos — The doomed inner moon, spiraling toward Mars
  • Deimos — The distant, irregularly shaped outer moon

Premium Feature

All extended moon systems are available exclusively to premium subscribers. Free users can still explore the main planets and Earth's Moon.

Real-Time Orbital Motion

Every moon now orbits its parent body with accurate orbital periods and inclinations. Zoom in to watch the intricate dance of Jupiter's Galilean moons, or observe Saturn's complex ring system with Titan and Enceladus in motion. Educational mode includes orbital data and composition details for each moon.

Enjoy exploring the diverse worlds that orbit our Solar System's largest planets.
